Akshay Kumar has been my favourite hero from my childhood. I have been his fan since “Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi”. I have seen and adored his Action Hero Avtaar in movies like “Sabse Bada Khiladi” “Mohra” and “Main Khiladi Tu Khiladi” to name a few. I laughed out aloud with Raju in “Herapheri ” and Sam had me in splits in ” Garam Masala”. Akshay made me cry in “Waqt” and “Jaanvar” . As a romantic hero he impressed every one with “Namaste London” , he looked handsome with Kohl filled eyes and his acting was superb. Last three-four years has been very different experience for me as an Akkian. He has done very different and meaningful movie like “Padman” “Toilet Ek Prem Katha” and “Airlift”. He took a huge risk by choosing a subject like “Padman” a women oriented subject. His decisions were spot on . I was surprised and disgusted as to why he is supporting a grey beard in “Airlift” but he choose characterization over looks and “Airlift” was not only a Super Hit it also helped him in winning his first ever national award (along with Rustom). This year he has won hearts with “Kesari” which grossed more than 150 Crores Net in India alone for which Akshay deserves a second national award. He has always been a youth icon with his healthy habits , unlike other stars he has abstained from using steroids to make six pack abs he has always advocated healthy habits, no smoking and no drinking are also great habits of our own Action King Akshay Kumar. Akshay Kumar is not only a reel hero but also a real hero and the charity work that he does is just incredible. He has launched Bharat Ke Veer application for soldiers, he has donated crores to the martyrs’ families. He has helped farmers by donation and other means the list is endless. In spite of having a Canadian passport he is more INDIAN than other so called Indians who spend all their life being a resident Indian but can’t do even 1 percent of what Akshay has already done for society. I am proud to be an Akkian and looking forward for “Housefull-4 “, “Laxmi Bomb” and above all “Sooryavanshi”.
Shahid Afridi is my favourite player of all times. It may sound strange to many people as I am an Indian but still I like Afridi the most. I heard about afridi for the first time when he scored record breaking century in 37 balls, I was curious to know “Who on the earth could score a century in 37 balls”. I first saw his match against West Indies in Sharjah where he scored a half century, he was quite unlike others, very aggressive free flowing and loved hitting sixes, from thereon I have been his fan. He used to come as opener and used to play aggressively, sometimes he would play very unorthodox strokes like hitting a bouncer to the boundary with a forehead cross court shot of ala lawn tennis. He scored centuries against Newzeland , West Indies, Shrilanka and I enjoyed every minute of it. When he would play against India I would always hope he did not score many, but sometimes he would Destroy the Indian attack also. A few days ago he hit ashwin for two sixes i was hoping he will remain at non-striker end. Afridi is not only the greatest attacking batsman of all times but a very good leg-spinner who has taken 378 wickets in ODI’s and a good fielder also. There are many afridi haters besides millions and millions of afridi fans. He has been declared man of the match 32 awards most for his country. He has taken 378 wickets and 7600 runs in ODI’s despite him being not a specialist batsman, kudos to him. He is not only a great all-rounder but also a good human being very much involved in charity and social activities like “Aman Ki Aasha” and Pulse Polio great show very few players do that. Afridi has been a devoted husband with four daughters I wish he become a father of “Junior Afridi” soon. There have been many so called great players technically correct and player with great averages but there is and there will be only one Afridi i don’t think there will be another afridi and he will always remain in the hearts of his fans forever.
Mohd. Rafi to me was the greatest Playback SInger ever born. Even though I am in my thirties but when I was in my teens I used to love Kishore Kumar and used to think he was the best but when i heard the song “Waadiyan Mera Daaman” it changed my perception completely. I found out that the sweetness and Range of Rafi is incomparable. Those comparing Rafi to Kishore should know that Rafi sang songs even for Kishore Kumar. Rafi was the complete Singer He could sing classical, Romantic, Patriotic songs sad songs comedy songs etc. etc. with perfection.
